"Dintr-un Lemn" Monastery
The name, which means from a single piece of wood, comes from a legend that the monastery church was built by a shepherd using a single tree trunk. Raised for Preda Brancoveanu in the early 17th century, it was burnt down in the early 19th century and rebuild. The new church retains some original features. The abbot's house and loggia were built by Prince Stefan Cantacuzino.  "Dintr-un Lemn" Monastery
