| Montepulciano is one of Tuscany's highest hill towns and its walls and fortifications offers beautiful views over Umbria and southern Tuscany.The town is made up of a pyramid of clustered Renaissance palazzi, the work of three architects: Michelozzo (1396-1472), Sangallo (1455-1534) and Giacomo da Vignola (1507-1573). The piece of resistance is the Piazza Comunale. |
