Placed between Florence and Pistoia at the foot of the Cavala Mountains and near the river Bisenzio, Prato is one of the world's largest manufacturers of cloth. The city's historic center retains several important churches and museums. Prato's  Romanesque Cathedral (Duomo) began in 1211, is famous for its Pulpit of the Sacred Cincture (1434) designed by Donatello and Michelozzo.
