Postcards from Tuscany
Arezzo - Piazza Grande
Tuscany - Arezzo (Piazza Grande)
Arezzo's Piazza Grande is typical for its irregular shape and steeply sloping brick pavement. The curving, tiered apse on Piazza Grande belongs to Santa Maria della Pieve, one of Tuscany's finest Romanesque churches, built between 1140 and 1300. Its facade has four arches, whereas the inside is divided into three aisles. Also on Piazza Grande stands the Palazzo delle Logge, built in the  16th century on a design by Vasari, the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici by Rossellino, the Medieval Torre dei Lapoli and Torre Faggiolana.
