Pistoia - The Town Hall (1295)
Tuscany - Pistoia (The Town Hall)
Pistoia is a beautiful town reaching out into the plains of the Ombrone river between the Arno and Monte Albano at the foot of the Apennines. The Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) houses the Museo Civico, with works by local artists from the 14th to 20th centuries. Other buildings worthy of notice are the Cathedral from the 12th-13th century, Museo del Tesoro, Palazzo dei Vescovi (Bishops' Palace) from the 11th century, the Battistero in Gothic style built between 1338-1359, and Palazzo Pretorio, which today is the Law-court.
