| Torre del Lago |
![]() |
| A glorious avenue of lime trees connects Viareggio with Torre del Lago, once the home of the opera composer Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). Today his former villa has been turned into the Puccini Museum with the Maestro's tomb in a hall used as Chapel. The museum features the piano on which many of Puccini's best known operas were created. Every year, in the summer, Torre del Lago hosts the open-air Festival Pucciniano, during which the musician's most important works are represented. |
