| Torre del Lago |

| Torre del Lago is a small village between Lucca and Viareggio, which owes its fame to the great composer Giacomo Puccini, who built a beautiful villa along the shores of the Massaciuccoli lake. The streets around the villa were named after his most famous operas. Lago Massaciuccoli, an important nature preserve for rare and migrant birds, provides a pretty backdrop for open-air performances of Puccini's work. |
