Postcards from Romania
Moisei Monastery (17th century)
The majority of buildings in Maramures county, are made of wood by skilled craftsmen, and the inhabitants produce virtually everything they wear, use and eat, and if not, do without. The most elaborate structures are the wooden churches, mostly built during the eighteenth century when the Gothic inspired architecture reached its height.
