Postcards from Romania
There is archeological evidence of a Dacian fortress and a Roman camp, but the town as it is known today was founded by German colonists. In the chronicles of the 17th century the years indicated for the establisment of the town of Sighisoara are 1191 and 1198. This settlement developed along Saes Brook, which flowed through the town near where the market stands today.
