| On the Piata Huet, the massive Evangelical Cathedral, built between 1322 and 1520, dominates its neighbours, the Saxons' Brukenthal Gymnasium (Grammar School - 1782) and Pfarrhaus (parish house - 1502), confirming Sibiu as a premier centre of the Lutheran faith. The Gothic cathedral stands on the site of a Romanesque basilica which stood inside the fortress. |
