                            Originally an Etruscan settlement, Rome grew to rule a vast empire, as the empire began to divide the city became the center of the Christian world. Artists and architects raced to work for the popes and their families. Some masterpieces of  architectual work were created in Classical Greek style, Romanesque style, Renaissance and Baroque style. A walk through Rome will reveal the legacy of this uninterupted history.            Romulus is said to have founded Rome in the 8th century BC and emperors lived here for 400 years.
