The Temple of St. Michael
Perugia - The Temple of St. Michael the Archangel
The origins of the Temple of St. Michael the Archangel go as far back as the 5th and 6th centuries. In 1036 it became a dependency of the Cathedral Charter. The temple has four chapels facing onto the ambulatory, each following the Greek Cross model. The Baptistry has frescoes from 15th century by a Umbrian artist; the Madonna del Verde, a fresco dating from 13th century and close by the entrance is a beautiful 14th century fresco.
