Postcards from Parma
Bardi fortress
A group of Lombard warriors founded a village in the 7th century at the feet of the enormous red rock cliff on which a fortress named Bardi was built. The fortress was first mentioned in documents dated 898, when the Bishop of Piacenza Everardo bought half of the rock to give shelter to the people of the area from Hungarians warriors.
