| Fontanellato - Fortress of Sanvitale |

| The town of Fontanellato developed around the fortress of Sanvitale, whose origins date back to 10th century. In the 14th century the area became a feud of the Sanvitale family who decided to transform the fortress into its residence. In 1948 the fortress became the property of the Municipality and now constitute the town museum. Its gallery displays many portraits of the Sanvitale, Farnese and Bourbon families and decorations of Parmingianino. |
