Garibaldi Barrier
This is the square where Porta di San Barnaba (St. Barnaba Gate) used to stand. Built in the 12th century, destroyed by fire and flood in the 13th century, fortified in 1338 and rebuilt in 1600 during the reign of Ranuccio I Farnese, the San Barnaba gate was demolished complete in 1830 with the construction of the Garibaldi Barrier.
