| Ducal Palace and Park |

| The construction of the Ducal Park and Palace began under the rule of Ottavio Farnese, who purchased a large area across the Parma Stream and commissioned the architect Jacopo Barozzi from Modena (known as Vignola) to build a summer residence and a garden. In 1690, on the occasion of the wedding between Odoardo Farnese and Dorotea of Neuburg, a lake with a diameter of about 500 meters was added to the garden. |
