| Farnese Theatre |
| Ranuccio I Farnese had the theatre built in a hurry between 1617-1619, in a former armory of the Pilotta Palace, to show Cosimo I Medici, the luxury of his court. The work was started by architect Giovan Battista Aleotti from Argenta and finished by Enzo Bentivoglio and Giovan Battista Magnani. The stage is enclosed by a large wooden balustrade and is interrupted in the center by the majestic entrance to the underlying vestibule and by two stairways leading to the 14 steps of the circle. |
