| Some of the original artwork still exists in the church, notably the "Descent from the Cross", a carving in the upper right transept by Benedetto Antelami (1150-1230). It's high relief portraying the deposition was realized in Romanesque style. The author signed it and dated 1178 with a Latin phrase. |
