| La Conciergerie |
![]() |
| The Conciergerie was originally the residence of the Comte des Cirges and later transformed into a prison. This is the place where Marie-Antoinette and about 4000 other figures of the Revolution were incarcerated before being sent to the quillotine. The Conciergerie has the Hall of the Men-at-Armes, a 11th century torture chamber and a 14th century clock tower. |
