Postcards from London
Tower of London
The Tower of London originally built by William the Conqueror, the oldest surviving building in London, was famous as a royal prison. Prisoners were brought to the Tower by boat along the river Thames. Many prisoners were executed, including Henry VIII's wife, Anne Boleyn, and Lady Jane Grey, Queen for just 9 days.
