Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the queen. The palace was built in 1762 as a country house for the duke of Buckingham. Queen Victoria (1819-1901) moved here from Kensington Palace on her accession in 1837. Located in a 40 acre garden, the palace it's 108m long and contains 600 rooms. You can tell whether the queen is at home by checking to see if the Royal Standard is flying from the mast outside.
