The Danube Delta

Only a small percent of Delta land remains permanently above the water; this are the tongues of accumulated silt supporting oak trees, willows and poplars twined round with climbing plants. The Danube Delta it's a paradise for wildlife, particularly birds, which pass through from China, India and Mongolia during spring and autumn migrations, or come from Siberia to winter here or from Africa to breed in summer.
