Postcards from Romania
The Danube Delta
The gateway to the Danube Delta is Tulcea,  a modern industrial city and the chief access point for passenger vessels entering Delta. Tulcea has been named the "Threshold of the Delta" ever since ancient Greek traders establish a port here; it was recorded by Herodotus and later Ovid, who used the town's roman name, Aegyssus.
