Bucegi Mountains
The great divide separating the Eastern and Southern Carpathians is known as the Prahova Valley. The Southern Carpathians stretch 250 km across Transylvania from Prahova Valley west to the Danube Strait. Forming this chain are the Bucegi, Piatra Craiului, Fagaras, Cindrel, and Retezat Mountains.
