| In May 2006, the Bran Castle was returned to Princess Ileana's son, New York architect Archduke Dominic Habsburg. He offered to sell the castle to Romania for $78 million, but the offer was rejected. Romanian government pays rent to the Habsburg to run the Bran Castle as a museum until 2009. The famous castle, visited by 400,000 tourists every year, is up for sale "to the right purchaser under the right circumstances". |
