Bologna - Pinacoteca Nazionale (Polyptic by Giotto 1266-1337)
The Pinacoteca Nazionale, the most important picture gallery in Bologna, is located in via Belle Arti 56, in the former Jesuits' monastery of St. Ignatius. In 1796, the Bologna's Senate unified in a public collection, housed in the Arts' Academy, all the painting from the suppressed churches and convents. The Gallery has a section of primitive artists, Giotto's room, Renaissance section, Manneriest room, Baroque and 18th century section, Room of the Crucifixes, Room of the Frescoes and Room of the Altar-pieces.
