Bologna - Basilica Santuario Della Madonna Di S. Luca (St. Luca Shrine)
In 1192, Angelica di Caicle donated to the Canons of St. Mary of Reno some plots on the hill on which they were to help her on building a monastery. The bishop of Bologna, Gerarldo di Ghisla, laid on 25th May 1194 the foundation stone of a  small church, which was dedicated to St. Mary of the Guardia Hill. Starting with 1433, the sacred image of the Madonna is move from the hill to the town every year with a public procession. The shrine was completed and consectrated in 1481 and renovated in 1706, 1713.
